On this occasion we traveled through a sip to Spain, to the region of La Rioja to find Mrs. Lopez Heredia. She owns a total area of 170 hectares, with an average annual production of about 800,000 kilos of grapes. The exceptional harvests result in high quality wine and grating reserves. They still have bottles in their family winery from the year 1883. The founder was the great-grandfather of Mrs. Lopez Heredia, who started everything. They also own a coopery. They continue maintaining their cooperage to create hand-craft barrels which makes their wine even more authentic.
In 10 years they will celebrate the 150 years of the wineries. At this moment Mrs. Lopez Heredia is working on how to direct and leave the winery to the next generation. She would like this fifth generation to fulfill all the wishes that her great grandfather had planned but not yet materialized. She speaks of her grandfather with great admiration and how he was a great visionary, a trait she has naturally inherited. She invites you to become acquainted with the Rioja and enjoy its exquisite wines.
