I had the wonderful opportunity to be part of the jury at the Feminalise Wine Awards 2017. The Feminalise World Wine Awards has place each year in Beaune, France close to all the exclusively Burgundy vineyards. On April 6th we were reunited almost 850 women for tasting around 4,550 international wines. I can't describe the excitement that I felt when I saw all those women from all around the world and we were all reunited just for one reason : “the passion of wine”.
It was awesome to share a tasting table with women from Japan and Italy, after I met women winemakers from Germany and France and I couldn't be more happy to share our experiences and thoughts about wine. The organization the day of the event was perfect, I made a blind-tasting of around 42 wines and I have a nice memory about the high quality of each one. I would like to share some statistics that I found in feminalise website about the relationship between women and wine. So interesting!
At the next day I have the pleasure to visit in Burgundy an important women winemaker Mrs. Francoise Feuillat-Juillot at the Feuillat-Juillot Domain, apellation Montagny-les-Buxy. She welcomed us with a perfect view directly on her vinyards and with a nice tasting of her production. All of her wines are really attractive but I decided to chose Camille. Camille is the daughter of Mrs. Feuillat-Juillot and she named her youngest wine (just 5 years vignes) with her daughters name.
