10 Gifts of Maggie Henriquez CEO - Champagne Krug. ![]() 1. Could you explain your personality? Strengths and weaknesses. I have a strong, determined, predictable, very passionate, very human, very generous. I have a desire permanent learning, I am curious, sensitive and very close people. I know what I want and I'm not ready to let go easily unless you are convinced that my idea is not there good, which is quite possible because I try to always be in openness and listening. For the weak points, I can be stubborn, too passionate and very hard at times and unknowingly hurting others. With the years I have less tolerance than before. Also I love the generosity therefore to give, but it is also necessary to know how to receive and there I am not very strong. 2. Could you describe where you were born and what region do you live in? What kind of traditions do you have? I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, I live in Paris and I do not have a lot of traditions but I still have a few, for example, I do everything by bike, I almost always prepare my lunch, a salad and I like to play sports. The country that I would like to visit this is India. 3. What kind of hobbies do you have? A job you've dreamed of doing when you were a kid. A person or a character that you admire when you were young. My hobbies are sports, music, theater, the Opera and reading. The job I dreamed of is exactly what I do now the only thing i miss is doing good to others, an old dream is to be able to actively participate in an association in the social. I have a very special admiration for Margareth Thatcher, can be her first and last name that I always changed to "Teacher". 4. What do you think is the worst enemy in the wine world right now? Forgetting the purpose of wine. Wine was created to give some pleasure. Add too much technicality to the description of the wine is its great enemy because it prevents the consumer from following its sensations instead of rationalizing its composition to show others what we know about wine instead of having the freedom to just feel it. 5. How could you possibly fight against the enemies of wine world? What if you could have some power magic, which would be? I fight for my place, never allowing any of my teams to describe Krug in technical language, on the contrary, we chose the music to translate the sensations of our Champanges. If I had magical power I would make it disappear all the technicality of the vocabulary to describe the wines. 6. Which champagne myth will you deny? That Champagne is only to celebrate, that it should be tasted in flutes and that we can shake the bottle and water people to party. Do not throw away the right products and the right ones Champagne can accompany different moments, from the aperitif at the end of the meal and should be enjoyed in a wine glass White. 7. Your best experience with champagne? Be the president of Krug! 8. What is your favorite champagne and why? Krug Grande Cuvée because it is the most generous expression of Champagne. No matter what my state of mind, I always find a few things that connect with my emotions. So very special! 9. Another accord with champagne that is not food. Music and Champagne chords. Well-chosen music can become a great tasting experience. Yes and tastings are next to each other in the brain and the vibration of music has an effect on tasting, first of all allowing the person to connect with their sensations and afterwards with good volume, the ability to perceive aromas and above all flavors will increase if we taste with music which was chosen or composed for Champagne. 10. If you could send a message to yourself, but when you were a little girl, what would you say? Not to be in a bad mood, to enjoy life and thank every day. When I was little I was always bad mood and I didn't like people, amazing but true ! #ChampagneDay |
